Natasha is awarded top title

AN ELECTRICAL firm is proudly celebrating after one of its apprentices won a top award from her trainers.

Natasha Pitts scooped the Apprentice of the Year award in recognition of her work at Dale Power Solutions, based in Salter Road.

Miss Pitts won the award from her training provider Derwent Training.
She was chosen for the Electrical/Electronic Apprentice of the Year title in recognition of her "remarkable commitment to her training programme both at Derwent Training and at Dale Power's Eastfield site".

Steve Scott, General Manager of the Derwent Training Association presented her award and certificate.

He said: "Natasha is a credit to Dale Power Solutions and a role model to the younger generation of the region, showing apprenticeship's within a local manufacturing company as the way forward".

Miss Pitts was also presented with an engraved iPod Nano by Dale Power Solutions Managing Director Tim Wilkins on behalf of the company.

Dale Power quality manager and co-ordinator of Apprenticeship Training said: "The management recognises that apprenticeships are the starting point of a rewarding career in engineering and that developing young talent from within the area is an essential part of future development for the business".

During the recent Apprenticeship Challenge Dale Power pledged to employ two apprentices on their programme this year but the high calibre of candidates put forward by Derwent Training has resulted in three successful appointments.
