Blue Sky Ideas Become a Reality
A blank sheet and a handful of teachers to come up with an ideal playground for young infants become a reality for Hawley Primary School.
When teachers were tasked with turning a sparse playground into a natural and creative play area for foundation stage children they felt their ideas were too 'blue sky' to become a reality. However headteacher Veronica Galpin had previously worked with Fawns Recreational Services so immediately called them in to discuss their ideas.
The key objective was to create a natural landscaped area where the children could unleash their imaginations and develop their independence. So, working alongside the teachers, Fawns' Play Consultant was able to make their ideas come to fruition by incorporating a winding wet pour path around two garden areas, a play pit and a canopy.
Veronica comments: "We were delighted with the service we received from Fawns - they were brilliant in their philosophy for early years play and effective in turning our blue sky ideas into a reality with the budget available to us. The children have been delighted with their new play area."
"We found Fawns to be very helpful and accommodating and would definitely recommend them to anyone!"
